Incriminating Photo Booth

At the Saturday morning Incriminators Big Ass Breakfast, our photography wizards Sean “Camper” Livingwater and Alex Maness will be setting up a photo booth to photograph you, your scoot, or whatever other beings or objects you might like to have photographed. The theme is TBA, but expect professional quality photographs that will be available for download after the rally. Thanks, Camper and Alex!

Blood Red River at Motorco Music Hall – More FYBO Saturday Night!

FYBO’s Saturday night revelry and mayhem will take place at Motorco Music Hall and feature another local favorite, the band Blood Red River. They braved FYBO a few years ago when Fullsteam was just a shell of a building, playing on flat concrete in a warehouse – now, we’re able to give them the proper stage they deserve.

The band says, “If you like old biker, surfer, or Quentin Tarentino and Russ Meyer flicks, you’re gonna dig Blood Red River.” As if that isn’t enough to pique your interest, the band comes complete with its own Go-Go dancer.

Check out these reviews:

“Listening to Blood Red River borders the adrenaline rush that comes with catching a big wave, gut-level enjoyment that has to do with existing in the moment.”
— Andrew Ritchey, Independent Weekly

“Blood Red River are retro, sure, but not a condescending novelty/comedy band like most retro acts. Don’t expect songs about trailer parks.”
— Thomas Langhorn, Direct Injection

Hold on to your butts, it’s going to be an awesome night!

The Straight 8s – FYBO Saturday Night!

We’ve just confirmed that veteran rock-a-billy rabble-rousers the Straight 8s will be one of the bands playing the Saturday night rally show! Who are the Straight 8s? From their website:

“The Straight 8s have worked hard for over a decade to write, record, and perform music that resonates with listeners drawn to the raw energy embodied in traditional rock-a-billy music. While the band has earned a solid reputation for their live shows, it is the creative process that drives founding member Robert Striegler. With two full-length records of original material, the Straight 8s are clearly not content with being a glorified cover-band or nostalgia act.”

Get excited about this band because they put on an awesome show!

Sponsors and Vendors

We couldn’t put on a great FYBO every year without the help of our generous sponsors. Right now we are in the process of gathering up this great group of businesses and individuals who may want to reach this very unique niche market of scooter trash, mods, gearheads, and greasers.

What does it mean to be a sponsor? You can do this in a few ways:

- Provide swag and/or advertising for 60+ rally bags
- Provide a sweet prize for our raffle, which helps cover costs for the rally and a donation to a local charity
- Provide some other service or donation for the rally
- Something else we may not have considered?

What do you get in return?

- A spot on our rally info packet
- Your logo on the rally website
- Exposure to said niche market through prizes/rally bag advertising
- The opportunity to set up your wares and information at the rally breakfast on Saturday morning/early afternoon

We’d love to have more vendors at our Saturday morning Big Ass Breakfast, to be held at Fullsteam Brewery. If you are interested in sponsoring the rally and/or setting up your wares to sell, please contact Margaret Gillis at gillis.margaret@gmail.com.

Saturday Night Soul: DJ Midnite Cowbwoy

We are excited to announce that Brian Harris, a.k.a. DJ Midnite Cowbwoy, will be spinning the band breaks for FYBO’s Saturday night festivities!

Brian has playing soul and reggae 45s to the masses since 1994 and has been a part of FYBO’s DJ lineup for as long as we can remember. He has DJ’ed at events and rallies all over the U.S. and is basically guaranteed to play something that will get you on the dance floor. He is also a well-dressed mofo with some killer sideburns.

Welcome back, Brian!

The Beginnings of a Schedule and Venues

Durham is such a great city and we like to show her off in style. We’re still working on an official schedule, but we’d like to highlight some of our favorite haunts that will be included in the final rally schedule, TBD, etc., etc.

On Friday night we’ll start the rally at The Green Room, Durham’s classic pool hall and bar, with enough pool tables to satisfy Eddie Felson. The Green Room manages to maintain a fantastic and welcoming neighborhood bar atmosphere without the second-hand smoke, and basically everyone agrees that their juke box rocks.

Bar manager and Incriminator Kevin Slater offers up a pint

The Incriminators’ Big Ass Breakfast will be on Saturday morning at Fullsteam Brewery, a plow-to-pint brewery inspired by the agricultural and culinary traditions of the South. Brews are courtesy of Fullsteam’s resident Zymologist and Incriminator Chris “32″ Davis – if you like what you are drinking (and you will), you can thank him. Rumor has it that the Big Ass Breakfast will not include any meat paste, meat cones, or other meat oddities of questionable consumption…but never fear! There will be many delicious things to eat, so bring your appetite!

Skip to Sunday brunch, which will be at Parker & Otis, a former meeting place for the Incriminators that has a giant porch for outdoor dining, an excellent selection of beer, and a sandwich with peanut butter, honey, bananas, and bacon. This is a great place for brunch and you’ll head home from the rally with a full belly.

More venues to be announced! Stay tuned…

Don’t go in the basement…wait, what?

With the 13th Annual FYBO falling on Friday, January 13, 2012, it was only natural that we celebrate this great rally with hockey masks and machetes. To give you a taste of things to come, here is this year’s rally patch, featuring our favorite snowman in character.

FYBO coming soon…

Just like your Vespa, we’re not quite up and running yet – stay tuned for updates!
