Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, The Idle Gossip brings their brand of “‘extreme R&B.” A bit of punk, a bit of blues, a bit of rock, a bit of pop” to our little corner of NC.
DJs Midnite Cowbwoy, Sir Lord Thomas, and Nate the Skate spin soul 45s until your dancin’ feet can’t take it no mo!

We had another amazing rally and send out our love, thanks, and two stroke smoke to all of you who braved the freezing cold to commemorate 15 years of FYBO. We were able to raise about $1,000 to donate to Durham Rescue Mission, thanks to your rally registrations and the raffle! Special thanks to that guy with the stripper dollars covered in glitter who bought so many raffle tickets…you know who you are…
We also got some pretty substantial news coverage from the News & Observer – read all about the rally here and check out the sweet video they put together about the rally and scootering, shot during our town ride excursion to the Duke Lemur Center:
After the rally and after expenses are paid, The Incriminators Scooter Club donates the remaining proceeds of the Freeze Your Balls Off Rally to a local charity – this year’s worthy recipient is the Durham Rescue Mission, Durham’s oldest and largest long-term homeless shelter, which provides food, clothing, permanent supportive housing, vocational training, counseling, job placement, education, accountability and much more to people in need in Durham, Chapel Hill, and Raleigh. This cold snap has us all glad for shelter, so we felt it was fitting to donate to an organization that helps those that do not, you know, because freezing your balls off should be a choice, not a necessity.
We’re featuring John Willse’s Upstartin’ All-Stars as one of the bands hitting the stage at Motorco Music Hall for FYBO Saturday night! From their Facebook page: “Members of The Jumpstarts, The Archbishops of Blount Street, R69, and various other musicians come together to lay down a sound that’s old but we’re bringin’ in the new. A sound that’s new but you better believe we’re not forgettin’ the old. So, come on this journey with us people… and move!”
Come out and shake a leg, skank up a storm, and have a little ska on us!
Here’s where we’re gonna be!
Want the ULTIMATE Freeze Your Balls Off Experience?
Combustion Cycles, one of our awesome sponsors, has generously offered camping space for the rally weekend in the field behind the shop to anyone brave enough to sleep in a tent in January. Come on, you’ve braved the Carolina Duke Inn with its questionable stains, you can handle the cold!
The space is within a combo-locked fence, so you can leave your tents up all weekend, and there is a heated shower. Plus… it’s free!
